Why do we sometimes fail to pay attention or forget things quickly? Why do some people make impulsive decisions whereas others simply can't be bothered to act? We study attention, memory and motivation in health and disease. In stroke and vascular dementia, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, these cognitive functions can go awry, leading to devastating effects for patients and their families.
