We study attention, memory and motivation in healthy people and in patients with Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, stroke and vascular dementia
Why do we sometimes fail to pay attention or forget things over seconds? Why do some people make impulsive decisions whereas others simply can't be bothered to act? We study attention, memory and motivation in health and disease.
In stroke and vascular dementia, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, these cognitive functions can go awry, leading to devastating effects. Our aim is to understand the mechanisms underlying these problems and develop treatments for them. If you want to learn more, click on one of the headings at the top of this page.
